Ride Rating
System

This is a rating system developed to give members an idea as to what a particular ride will be like.

Level 1
150 to 200 miles per day, not over 55-65 mph, passenger OK, easy ride for all skill levels, average bike size and condition.
Example: Trip to Jimmy's Grill.  

Level 2
200 to 300 miles per day, may include an overnight stay, some expressway riding at expressway speed (60-70 mph), passenger OK, most experience levels, larger bike in good condition.
Example: Blessing of the Bikes weekend.

 Level 3
400+ miles per day, may include one or more overnight stays, looking for exciting and difficult roads, all kinds of weather, passenger not recommended, high skill level required, over 500cc bike in excellent condition with new or near new tires.
Example: Appalachian Triathlon.

Challenges

Challenges are awards with special requirements that push the envelope of motorcycling in some way. Get the patch by fulfilling the requirements and sending in your $2.50. (Patches)

Those individuals who have attained a Doctorate Degree and by virtue of a Badge of Moses have become a Non-Riding current member of Ride Motorcycle may earn any patch by fulfilling the requirements of the patch on 4 wheels.


Therefore, all members of RIDE Motorcycle who have ridden a challenge on a motorcycle, either as rider or passenger, shall be entitled to display the appropriate "Challenge" patch or patches at any or all times as they so choose, and shall have the right to claim these patches as credit toward their doctoral degree from Two Lane University.

Bridge Run
Level 3
From below M-57 to the Mackinaw Bridge and back in 12 hours or less. There can be no more than 225 miles of expressway travel and the rider must take MI-22 from Manistee to Empire and MI-119 from Harbor Springs to Cross Village. A south bound motorcycle toll ticket from the Mackinaw Bridge is proof of the trip.
A Day Trip
Level 3
From any start point to any finish point 1,000 miles in 24 hours or less. The most popular Day Trip is around Lake Michigan including lunch in Marquette.
Chilly Burger
Level 3
The only qualification for this patch is to posses a south bound motorcycle toll ticket for the Mackinaw Bridge dated any time in December, January or February.
Double Decker

The only qualification for this patch is to posses a south bound motorcycle toll ticket for the Mackinaw Bridge dated any time in two months of the same season December, January or February.
Triple Decker

The only qualification for this patch is to posses a south bound motorcycle toll ticket for the Mackinaw Bridge dated any time in all three months of the same season December, January or February.
Appalachian Triathlon
Level 3
This patch is awarded to anyone who has traveled Deals Gap, The Blue Ridge Parkway and Ohio-555 in the same trip.
CA - Bay Area Triathlon
Level 3
This patch is awarded to anyone who has traveled Golden Gate Bridge, CA-35 Sky Line Drive and CA-130 Mt. Hamilton/Del Puerto Canyon in the same trip.
Doctorate Degree

The title of Dr. is given to anyone who has earned 10 patches (Best Roads & Challenges). A name patch will be issued with "Dr." in their handle. A diploma will also be issued which reads "Having successfully completed a full ride "Roads Scholarship "the Degree of Doctorate is hereby granted by the Ride Motorcycle School of "Two Lane University" to (NAME) He/She will now and forevermore be granted the right and privilege of being addressed as "Dr. (HANDLE)".
The Badge of Moses

This Badge is presented to individuals who have attempted but, for reasons beyond their control, not completed a motorcycle trip while demonstrating outstanding patience, courage, ingenuity and good humor in the face of adversity.
The Badge of Aaron

This Badge is presented to individuals who have made mistakes, yet completed a motorcycle trip under special circumstances, while demonstrating personal patience, courage, ingenuity and good humor in the face of adversity.
Yooper Challenge
Level 3

One trip of 1,000 or more miles in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, including but not limited to the CHALLENGE following: US 2 - St. Ignace to Naubinway,  M 28 - Munising to Marquette, Scenic Drive -Ahmeek to Eagel River, M 26 - Eagel River to Copper Harbor (Best Road), Brockway Mountain Drive - Copper Harbor to summit and back, Unnamed county road - Lac La Belle to Gay (Gay Bar Optional), M 107 - Silver City to Lake of the Clouds Overlook, South Boundary Road (Porcupine Mountains State Park) from M 107 to mouth of the Presque Isle River, M 134 - I 75 to DeTour Village, Ferry to Drummond Island, Drummond Island - Johnswood Road east to end of pavement, Any route through Iron Mountain or Escanaba or any point south of these.

The Bride Ride

This Badge is presented to individuals who have ridden a motorcycle in an officially sponsored event related to a wedding ceremony.

Great Lakes
Circle Tour
Level 3

This Badge is given for riding a motorcycle around each of the 5 Great Lakes - Michigan, Superior, Huron, Erie and Ontario.
There is a Great Lakes Circle Tour patch and a rocker for each lake you have ridden around. The first three Great Lakes count for one One Dr. patch and the next 2 count for One Dr. patch.

Four Season Patch N/A This patch is awarded to those persons who have ridden a motorcycle at least 100 miles each month for 12 consecutive months.
Woodward Avenue Level 1 This patch is awarded to those persons who have ridden the entire length of the Historic Woodward Ave. in Detroit, MI in one trip.
To Hell and Back Level 1 This patch is awarded to those persons who have ridden to Hell, MI and back in one trip.
From Hell To Paradise Level 2 This patch is awarded to those persons who have ridden to Hell, MI and Paradise, MI in one trip.
Leader of the Pack

This patch is awarded to those persons who have lead 3 or more Ride Motorcycle scheduled rides in one year, with a total of 3 or more bikes on each ride. These rides can be either for an evening ride or extended trip.
A rocker patch is available for each additional year in which you complete the requirements. The patch and each rocker count toward your Doctorate Degree.

LDR
(Long Distance Rider)

This patch is awarded to those persons who have loged in a minimum of 2,500 miles on one road trip. There is no time limit for the road trip, or how far you have to drive in a day, just that your total mileage for the trip would meet or exceed 2,500 miles.
Chapter 
Fun Patch

The patch recognizes a member’s participation in a Chapter’s officially sponsored group-building event.
This patch is awarded to those persons who ride to the event by motorcycle, and while participating in the event, are actively involved in getting to know other members as well as Chapter and Club history.
(Canoe Trips, Spring and Fall Trips etc.)
Retirement Ride N/A This patch involves riding a motorcycle in a motorcycle escort of a retiree, to or from their job, on the last day of their employment.
PENTA

This is a challenge patch for riders that ride in at least 5 U.S. states
(and/or Canadian Provinces) in a single day.
Twenty K

This patch is awarded to those persons who have ridden a motorcycle 20,000 miles or more, in one calendar year.
100 GRAND
